I needed replacement parts for my Jack Lellane Juicer (made by Tristar) that I got from the infomercial. I previously bought replacement parts, for it,from Tristar, the company that makes the Jack L juicer and it took 3 months to receive them. It also took over a month to receive that juicer when I initailly ordered it. Tristar has the worst customer service ever, and I'd recommend avoiding them at all costs, unless you enjoy frustration.
I decided to try to find a new juicer and leave the Jack L juicer behind.
Previous to the Jack L juicer I had the old Juiceman JR, but I didn't really like it because the feeder was very small, the motor was weak, and the plastic broke very quickly.
My research on Amazon showed that the Breville juicers all got good reviews, and I suspect that they're excellent juicers, but after spending $200 on the Jack L juicer i was hesitant to spend that much again.
I happened to be in Macys, and I saw the Juiceman Jr JM300 next to the JL juicer and the Breville Juice fountain plus. A quick look at the floor models showed that the Jack L juicer has only 250 watts of power. The Breville has 850 watts but cost $150. Breville also has a 600 watt model that gets good reviews here on Amazon.
The Juiceman Jr JM300 Has 700 watts and only cost me $59 + tax, and it's a bit smaller than the other two. This looked pretty good to me.
The minute I got home. I juiced 2 heads of leafy green lettuce and a whole lemon w/ the peel on.
This machine is not very loud, and chewed up everything very quickly. It did slow down a bit w/ the lemon, but I only used slow speed ( it has 2 speeds) and I pushed the plunger perhaps too hard. As soon as I let up on the pressure, It chewed up the lemon quickly and easily. This is something the Jack L juicer never did for me.
The design of the feeder and blade seems sturdy enough. The feeder on this model is fairly wide like the other 2 juicers listed above. The feeder is directly over the center of the blade and the hole is the same width as the entire blade. (different than I've seen on other juicers where the feeder is over a radius area of the blade).
The blade has very sharp teeth which seems to be a good feature, but be very careful w/ it. I got a small cut while I was washing it. Otherwise the machine seems very safe.
The Pulp that came out of this machine was more dry and the amount of juice was more than the Jack L juicer ever produced.
There is a foam seperator in the juice jug that works well.
Cleaning the machine was easy, and took about 30 seconds. I just rinsed it right after using it and used the brush that came with it to clean the filter.
Based on the price and results of this juicer I'm very happy w/ my purchace.

A smart addition to any healthy kitchen, this fruits-and-vegetables electric juicer produces fresh juice with a simple turn of a knob. Just place a glass or pitcher under the spout, insert fruit or vegetables into the large feed chute (cutting over-sized items into smaller pieces if necessary), and gently and slowly press down using the included pusher. The machine accommodates anything from pineapple, melon, apples, oranges, and grapes to tomatoes, celery stalks, cucumbers, carrots, spinach, and more. Fresh produce contains the most juice, and only thick peels need to be removed--thin peels or skins can be left on. The unit comes equipped with a powerful 700-watt motor and two speed settings for simple one-handed operation to extract pulp-free juice in minutes. Other highlights include a stainless-steel permanent-mesh filter and filter basket, a safety interlock switch, a high-impact see-through lid, a removable pulp container for easy cleaning, and non-skid rubber feet to ensure sturdy placement on a table or countertop. Dishwasher-safe parts make cleanup a snap, and a juice jug and cleaning brush come included. The electric juicer measures approximately 14 by 9-2/3 by 16-2/5 inches.

Champion Juicer G5-PG710 G5-PG720-BLACK Commerical Heavy Duty Juicer Review

Champion Juicer G5-PG710 G5-PG720-BLACK Commerical Heavy Duty Juicer
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Before considering reviews of juicers, the first thing the reader needs to examine is the experience of the reviewer. I've noticed that dozens of these reviews are by those new to juicing, often assessing their first juicer purchase. They then are making arbitrary statements about equipment of which they know little. Rather like assessing a sewing machine, a camera, any piece of technology without sufficient perspective.
I began juicing back in the 70's when I became vegetarian. At that time juicers were not considered fashionable as now, and certainly there were no infomercials or cable! There was a fairly inexpensive line of centrifugal juicers made by Braun, Krups, Oster, etc. There was the Norwalk, still the Rolls-Royce of juicers (at $2000+). There was the excellent Acme centrifugal (now sold as Omega). And there was the Champion, then selling for $250-300. After chopping through a nice little Braun in a year or so I spent hard-earned college earnings on a Champion; they only came in white then. Much of of the hoopla about oxidation of juice hadn't come up yet. We had no health food stores in Texas that I knew about that carried the Champion, so I ordered mine over the phone.
I was shocked when it arrived at the weight. This is no lightweight! Unlike the department store juicers, it has a very large motor, a GE, with tons of torque. This is because this is a masticating juicer with a slow-turning cutting cone. Without the cone assembly on the front it is actually not large at all.
The 'plastic' parts on the Champion were/are nylon rather than just molded plastic. This means they are also quite flexible and are of course shatterproof. The cutting cone is quite different than other machines, being a solid piece of nylon on a large metal cutting shaft. The 'blades' are not sharp as on a centrifugal juicer; one can run one's fingers over them without cutting oneself. Why? Because their purpose is not to cut alone; they force the food around the cone inside the outside housing, then over a curved screen at the bottom where the brushing motion and pressure mash the juice out of the produce. The cone has an indentation that spits the pulp out the front of the cone assembly. Again, this is not the same as a single-auger juicer where the auger forces the food against a screen at the front. I won't say which is better, they're just different. However, unlike single-auger machines like a Samson or Omega 2005, it is not self-feeding. There is a supplied pusher; if you look down in the feeding area you can see that the cone turns while you apply pressure on the food, to grind off bits of the produce to send over the juicing screen. It is NOT pressureless, but you don't have to put your weight on it to get it to feed, either. Judging from what I've seen of twin-gear machines on YouTube and a couple of friends, the pressure required is nothing like trying to force produce through those. There's one bodybuilder on YouTube who demonstrates putting his twin gear on the floor so he can put his weight into it! A child can easily operate the Champion's required force.
Assembly of the Champion is extremely easy. I suppose it sounds quaint now, but one needs to keep a little Crisco container and put a dollop on the motor output shaft prior to juicing. This is a metal-to-metal contact when the juicing cone is put on and simply helps separate the cone when finished. I guess one could use Pam or some spray but I've never had a problem with keeping a little Crisco can for that, and only a very small amount is required. Slide the cone on, put the juicing screen in its recessed holder on the nozzle container holding the cone, a short twist and you're ready.
The Champion amazed me then, and still amazes me at the simplicity and durability of its design. Not a bunch of little plastic parts to keep up with. As the parts are nylon, they won't break if dropped. They don't crack, they don't deform. They just work.
At the end of juicing, just twist the cone exterior a few degrees and it's off. Reach over and pull off the cutting cone. That's it. Take the juicing screen out and scrub it just like any other juicer, except this one is only a little curved screen and very easy to brush w/o any weird crevices. Wash the cone assembly clean, wash the cutting cone, and you're done. I've always owned dishwashers but have never seen the need to run any of this through. Juice pulp is not baked-on spaghetti sauce; it rinses right off, so why dishwash it? These new Champions come in colors; the light colors will certainly stain with carrot and beet juice, as in any other juicer. If it bothers you, just wipe the affected parts with a little bleach and you are back like new. The motor housing is powdercoated paint.
Those who know juicing know that to juice greens they should be alternated with firm produce like carrots, celery, radishes, apples, etc. This aids the juicer in pushing the greens through. This applies to any juicer I've ever seen, including the Norwalk. Don't expect to run pounds of spinach, etc., through without a 'cleaning' carrot every so often. Most of us don't juice just greens anyway. Once again, a little common sense and knowledge.
Since this is a masticating juicer and the pulp comes out the cone in the front, one can conceivably juice all afternoon w/o having to stop and empty anything. I set mine next to the sink so that the cone end just drops the pulp into the sink bowl. Because of the design of the machine and in the interest in keeping the cone assembly reasonably compact (several inches) the size of the receptable for juice is somewhat limited. Perhaps because I've used one of these so long it's not an issue for me.
I can't count the number of juicings my Champion has had. It has never overheated, never jammed, never plugged up. The motor has never required service or maintenance. Does it remove more juice than any other juicer? No. If that's the supreme issue, buy a Norwalk. However, there is a device known as the People's Press--you can find it on the web--where you can use your Champion, discharging pulp into a cloth bag, then using a hydraulic press (like the Norwalk) to truly get all the juice out of the pulp. My pulp is damp, but again, I don't consider that the only criterion for juicing, not by a long shot. It's just an easy way to market machines.
I currently use two other juicers also, but if my Champion died tomorrow I'd order another one. I remember a few years ago seeing Elizabeth Taylor's kitchen in a magazine and there was a Champion like mine on her counter! Last place I expected to see one.
There is a small blanking plate one can put in place of the juicing screen. This makes great nut butters, drop them into the feed tube and out comes the butter at the other end. I've used this machine forever for frozen dessert by freezing banana pieces and strawberries, etc., then dropping them down the feed tube and coming out with soft-serve at the end of the cone. If one wants something like grated carrots, just run the machine without any plate under the cutting cone and beautiful grating will come out the bottom.
I've found over the years that each juicer has its strong points for some foods and is weaker at others. I've never gotten wheatgrass to do well in here. If I were doing wheatgrass daily I'd buy a juicer for it. On the whole, though, and if I could have just one juicer, this would still be the one. A couple of friends have bought Champions in the last few years and I don't see any difference in quality between mine and theirs. It amazes me that they can sell them so cheap now--the $300 I paid in the 70's was a lot dearer than now!

Newbie juicer here but our blender just kicked the bucket so I wanted to get something that could do both and last me a while ... and look good on the countertop too. The Juice n Blend is definitely a beast .. we've had it for a little over a month and it has been used just about every single day since it got here. Assembly and disassembly is super quick and it churns out juice very very fast .. it's been a top priority for my wife and I to begin adding more servings of vegetables and fruits in our diet and this has been a tasty way to do just that. The unit has worked remarkably well for juicing and the blender is simply a step above any of the blenders I've previously owned. It's solid and does a fantastic job .. and again .. cleanup is a breeze.
Highly recommend for those looking to fill both those roles in one unit.

Kuvings Juicer NJ-9310U, FREE Shipping Available!
I got this juicer as a birthday present and was over the moon about it. I intended to purchase the other juicer however the store was out of them. After I purchased this juicer, my parents saw how much better my juicer was than theirs. They immediately purchased Kuvings Juicer.
This was an amazing juicer, I've ever seen. When I first met this, it came well packed. The juicer was very easy to set up and use even without reading the manual. I made fresh juice every morning with ease. I stucked in a whole apple and the juicer made a cup of apple juice like nothing. The juice was surprisingly smooth. I was very impressed. A powerful motor seemed to shred evreythng. I was really satisfied the noise of the powerful motor.
It was also very easy to clean up. It just took all of 5 minutes if you're through. Even comes with its own scrub brush. It worked very well to scrub the metal inner piece that strains the juice. This was the only part I washed by hand. It could be rinsed and put through the dishwasher.
The juice is very smooth and frothy. I highly recommend this juicer to friends!

Equipped with an energy-saving 350-watt motor capable of a food-processing speed of 11,000 rpm, this centrifugal juice extractor quickly converts fresh fruits and vegetables into healthy, all-natural, pulp-free juice--a delicious alternative to store-bought varieties that often come laden with artificial sugar and preservatives. The unit's large-capacity cylindrical feeding tube can fit whole apples, pears, oranges, kiwis, peppers, and more without the need to peel off the skin, remove the seeds, or chop into smaller pieces first, while its sharp stainless-steel blade and basket leave behind no pulp residue for pure, nutritious, read-to-drink beverages. In fact, the powerful unit has the capacity to continuously juice up to 30 to 50 cups of juice at a time. Compost the collected pulp or, better yet, use it to flavor soups, sauces, breads, cakes, and more. For peace of mind, the appliance provides a safety locking system that prevents the unit from operating unless the work bowl and cover are properly locked onto the base. In a sleek, ergonomic design that takes up minimal space on the counter, the juice extractor measures 16-4/5 by 14 by 9-2/3 inches and carries a one-year manufacturer's warranty.

There are two very important things a juicer should do. 1) extract all the juice and b)clean up easily. This juicer does both. The manufacturer calls it slow, but I saw it as very powerful. By the time I juiced my second lemon, I was a pro happily throwing out completely empty half lemon rinds. It costs a little more than some of the other models, but it's also built to last. I'll probably end up having to put it in my will.

I bought the Jack La Lane Power juicer and was very disappointed. I returned it after trying it a few times. Carrots would always get stuck in the bottom of the shoot and impede anything else including the stuck carrots from passing through to the blade. I had to keep stopping the juicer to pull the carrots out. I realized that everytime a put a carrot in the juicer, it would get stuck once it got juiced down to the right size to just sit at the bottom of the shoot. Ughhh...so I returned it and got the Jack La Lane "Elite." The only difference was that the "Elite" had a stainless steel cover...it had exactly the same problem..I would never, ever, recommend this juicer to anyone. I ended up going back to my Juiceman Jr which I have had for over 15 years. I had put it in a bag to take to Goodwill, but had to take it out again.I now have a Breville "elite". It DOES NOT JUICE greens well and there seems to be a lot of waste. I'm going to try another brand and if I am still dissatisfied will just stick with my old Juiceman Jr!

This is a very easy juicer to operate and clean! It is durable and very attractive with a high quality stainless steel that goes with other appliances in my kitchen. When I opened the juicer it comes neatly pre-assembled, very nice. I proceeded to juice my favorite juice recipe-celery and carrots, it was so easy and I do like the variable 9 speed. I was able to control the speed level so effortless from the lower level speed up to the 9 speed level. The pulp was very dry which shows that oklife Juicer was able to extract the maximum juice and the juice taste great! What I like most is that Oklife OKl6063 is so easy to use and clean, with just three quick steps, viola, you are ready to juice! I owned a very popular juicer brand but I only used it a couple of times and stopped because it was so difficult to operate it and clean.
I have used my Oklife Juicer every single day since I bought it because it is hassle free and it does the job!

This is by far the best way to juice citrus fruits. Its especially good if you have arthritis or repetative stress injury that makes using the old fashion hand juicers harder. Of course, you could try using electric juicers, but they can be a pain to wash after your done (like any juicer). I strongly prefer this method over all that I have used.

Champion Juicer White 1/Unit Review

Champion Juicer White 1/Unit
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I've been using my Champion juicer for about four years now. I also have an Acme 5001 juicer. The Acme is excellent, but I've found myself using the Champion and storing the Acme.
The Champion juicer is extremely easy to set up and use.
The continuous feed feature allows making large amounts of juice without intermittent cleaning. The Champion is versatile. With the screen removed, it's a mincer. With the blank instead of the screen it makes sorbets. With the large hole screen, the juice is pulpier, my preference. You can buy a mill attachement to mill small amounts of flour, nuts, or flax seed.
Juicing is messy. The Champion is OK in that regard but not great. It's not as messy as some, more messy than others. Cleanup is quick and easy. Disassembly is a breeze. Unlike other machines with many parts and hard-to-clean screened centrifical baskets, the Champion has a small semi flat filter screen that is easy to clean.
The plastic parts are tough nylon but stain easily from food. The stains go away in the dishwasher. The parts aren't supposed to be dishwasher safe, but we've never had problems.
The residue is usually reasonably dry. If not, it can be run through again to squeeze more juice out of it. The residue can be used as mulch or to thicken and flavor soups and stews.
The home model motor has almost never stalled on me, though it has slowed with carrots or cabbage if I use too much pressure. Just a slightly reduced pressure on the tamper and the motor speeds right back up.
I know somebody who has had the same Champion since the 1950's and still uses it. Parts are reasonably priced and easily available.
It doesn't juice grass, but you can roll the leaves of cabbage or lettuce and juice them. It doesn't juice leaves as good as some other juicers, but it's OK for occasional use or if the leaves are to add flavor to other juices. A person who only eats raw food would probably benefit from a slow speed gear or screw press type unit instead, even at twice the price.
The unit is heavy and bulky, but has had the same honored spot on our kitchen sink since we bought it new. I love the 1950's utilitarian styling. I'd recommend getting another juicer if it needed to be stored in a cabinet after each use or if you want something sleek looking.
If it was stolen, I'd buy another, except maybe a dark color that doesn't stain.
Update November 2009. It's still going strong, and I've discovered other uses for it. We bought the grain mill, and use it to grind flax seed. An apple butter recipe I made calls for quartering the apples, boiling them for 20 minutes, and then straining the apples to remove the skin and seeds. Straining by hand was extremely slow and labor intensive, but I got a brain storm (necessity being the mother of invention) and put the sieve plate with large hole in my Champion. Running all 20 or so lbs. of cooked apples through it took about 5 easy minutes. The applesauce came out of the bottom, the skin and seeds out the end. If anything, I love my old Champion even more than before.

Black & Decker JE2100 10-Ounce Fruit-and-Vegetable Juice Extractor Review

Black and Decker JE2100 10-Ounce Fruit-and-Vegetable Juice Extractor

I could not bring myself to pay the prices for the expensive juicers when it seems that they all work the same way. What I like about this juicer is: 1) it works, 2) it's small, 3) if I break it I will not be out for a hundred or more dollars. Juicing is fast and simple. Another reviewer says you aren't getting all of the juice from the pulp. My observation is that my pulp is very dry: I suggest you feed the pieces as directed. And remove veins from your celery. Another reviewer said that when you lift out the screen assembly, stuff falls out. Actually, the screen collar housing is easy to remove and it brings out the screen at the same time. The collar has a lip that catches everything. The screen is hard to clean, but that's true on every juicer. Get a small nylon brush with soft, long bristles too large to get stuck in the holes, and be patient. I found it takes 5 minutes to clean up the entire unit and put the pieces on the dish rack to dry. Another reviewer said that the pulp exit gets clogged and the motor might slow down. This is also my experience, specifically with carrots. When you notice this happening, turn off, remove the cover, and use a finger to clear the blockage and to scoop any lingering chunks from the screen, then put the cover back on and keep going. This takes 20 seconds, it's not a big deal. I like this unit for quick personal juicing and I will be keeping it. March 2011 update: If you "pulse" the carrots by tapping them down in stages rather than pushing them straight through, very little pulp gets caught in the hood!

Its durable blade breaks down the fibers, sending pure juice through the stainless-steel strainer, out the spout, and into the included juice cup. Pulp collects in a container in the back. Compost the pulp or, better yet, use it to flavor soups, sauces, breads, cakes, and more. Other thoughtful design details include simple one-handed operation, a clear cover for viewing the process from start to finish, three-way automatic shutoff with an anti-drip system, and convenient cord storage. In a compact size that takes up minimal space on the counter, the juice extractor measures 9 by 6 by 11-2/7 inches.

The Sharper Image 8021SI Stainless-Steel 700-Watt Super Juicer Review

This is the first juicer I've owned, so I don't really have a comparison. However, I did do quite a bit of research before buying this. Mine has the black top, not clear, so I can't see what's happening, but apart from that it's the same. I was very impressed with the motor. However, unlike the photos, I couldn't find small enough apples or pairs to go whole down the tube, and had to cut them in 1/4, but no problem. Also, the orange juice made from oranges with peel on (as suggested) tasted awful. Perhaps the really thin-peel oranges would be fine, but none available at the moment. I quickly discovered that although it says that you don't have to peel, the juice is much nicer for many fruits when you do - i.e. citrus, pineapple, mango - fruits that you wouldn't eat the peel anyway. I deducted one star because I did find that the clean-up took longer than expected. All these ads always show a 1-2-3 quick-clean but anyone who has juiced, and for those that haven't, you MUST clean immediately after juicing, otherwise those little bits of fruit stick to everything and are impossible to clean off and (Heaven forbid) can grow bacteria..... But quite honestly, for the price, I think it's a good deal - from what I've seen of much more expensive ones, this is comparable.
One last thing - I was surprised that the remaining pulp wasn't dryer for some fruits - seemed like you could extract more juice (especially pineapple) - but then the recipe book suggests using the pulp for muffins, and that seems like a great idea which I shall try.

A welcome addition to any healthy kitchen, this fruits-and-vegetables electric juicer produces fresh juice quickly and easily. Simply place a glass or pitcher under the spout; insert whole apples, pears, cucumbers, or other produce into the wide-mouth feeding tube; then gently and slowly press down using the included pusher. In seconds, the appliance dispenses delicious, all-natural juice--a nice alternative to store-bought varieties that often come laden with artificial sugar and preservatives. The unit's stainless-steel blade breaks down the fibers, while its stainless-steel micro filter catches the pulp, ensuring only pure juice gets dispensed into the glass. Pulp dispenses towards the back of the unit into a large-capacity pulp collector for easy disposal or composting, or, better yet, for making sauces, soups, salsa, cakes, and more. The juicer features a quiet yet powerful 700-watt motor and a safety locking bar that securely locks all the parts in place when in use. When finished, the juicer's removable parts clean up easily by hand or in the dishwasher. Attractively housed in stainless steel, the electric juicer measures approximately 13 by 8-1/2 by 15-1/2 inches.

Hurom HU-100 Slow Juicer, Snow White Review

Hurom HU-100 Slow Juicer, Snow White

For the last four years I've used a centrifugal juicer and always wanted a masticating juicer, but never bought one because I knew some of them had problems juicing fruits, and also that they're very slow.
So, when I saw the advertisement for this "slow" juicer that was fast and which could juice both leafy greens and fruits equally well, I was very excited. I raptly watched the video demonstrations of its capabilities and ordered it promptly. Some of its purported advantages of extremely dry pulp, more juice, little to no foam, etc. have fallen far short of the promises made. I notice no increased amount of juice, the foam is absolutely no less than it was with a centrifugal juicer, and UNLIKE my trusty centrifigual juicer the Hurom does a LOUSY job of juicing greens. Just try to juice a leaf of Kale and you'll find it gets all wound up around the screw that is supposed to be chewing it up. It's a mess! I have to stop, put it in reverse, which makes the top come off, then unplug it, stick my hands down around the screw and try to get some of the stuck kale out. And, if you are going to juice a green like kale, do it last or anything you try to juice afterwards will also get stuck around the screw with the kale and not get juiced.
I have also NOT noticed any less separation than the juice created with my centrifugal juicer. So, that's a bust, too.
On the positive side, here are some things I do like about it better than my centrifugal -- it's blessedly quiet, the juice doesn't spit out at high velocity causing splashing everywhere, also small berries and things like pomengranate seeds are easier to juice since they're not trying to jump back out the top of the juicer like they do with the high-speed velocity of the centrifugal juicer.
So, if this is your first juicer, you'll probably be pretty happy with it. If you're a seasoned juicer and are looking to buy up, however, for the money I think I'd wished I'd gone for the twin auger juicer instead.
Update: I've been using the juicer for a couple of months now and am pretty happy with it. I just make sure I tear some of the larger greens up a bit before feeding them in, and I try to juice them last or right before some other item that will help push them through, like celery.

This is the first juicer I have purchased and so far I am very happy. It has a small foot print and has adequate power for everything I have juiced thus far. Clean-up involves 4-5 pieces and can mostly be done with rinsing in hot water. Consumer Reports rated this a best buy and I agree.

Cuisinart CJE-1000 1000-Watt 5-Speed Juice Extractor Review

Cuisinart CJE-1000 1000-Watt 5-Speed Juice Extractor
Average Reviews:

I bought this without finding any other reviews. I wish I hadn't. I have a number of Cuisinart items in my kitchen and really like them all. This isn't one of them and I'm returning it today.
The pulp it ejects is mushy. Juicers I've had in the past were able to create a fine, dry pulp. I pick up this pulp, slightly squeeze it with my hand and get more juice. A lot of the pulp doesn't make it to the pulp container. Quite a bit of the pulp even escapes and ends up in a fine sheet on my counter.
Maybe I just expected too much from Cuisinart. I emailed their customer support to see if this was a known issue or to find out if I was doing it wrong (doubtful) and haven't heard back from them after more than a week.
The juicer looks great. I like the design and the finish. Other than that I dislike it very much.

Chef'n FreshForce Citrus Juicer, Lime Review

Chef'n FreshForce Citrus Juicer, Lime
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
This Chef'n Juicer is the best Juicer I've owned.
I enjoy my Gin (Sapphire) and Tonics and like to press 1/2 lime into a drink (Fever-Tree Tonic Water highly recommended too), as well as fresh lime juice in a margarita. I put my presses to the test!
I've have owned a bunch of the green or yellow single hinged juicers which have served well but don't last very long, either pop a rivet or the hinge breaks. They also gum up with repeated use and are difficult to clean (I think maybe the wax on the fruit??).
This juicer uses a mechanical advantage for pressing which requires much less pressure and gets most juice in one press.
The press surfaces are also more durable and easier to clean.
Own this juicer and you will not be happy using the old style.
Only con I might list is it only comes in one size (big emough for a good sized lemon) but even with the smaller limes I get a good press.
